Mr. Woodrow “Woody” Franklin Conley stood for our country as a member of the US Army in Vietnam. It is our honor to stand for him now. Woody was a graduate of Boyd County High School and proudly served his country honorably in the United State Army during the Vietnam War. Woody was a part of the Nike- Hercules Missile Outfit. It was a time of his life that Woody would recall over the years, not taking a moment for granted.
Woody served Boyd County as the Justice Of The Peace for over a decade. He volunteered his time as a member of various organizations including the Patriot Guard, American Legion Post 93 of Kenova, WV, and the Masonic Poage Lodge 325 F&AM. Woody retired from the Kentucky Department of Transportation. Woody’s efforts to his community did not go unnoticed, and he was named a Kentucky Colonel, the highest commission from the Governor of Kentucky recognizing service, achievements, or contributions to the community.
Woody’s time spent with his grandchildren was precious to him, whether it was teaching them to drive or just sharing a meal. Woody attended Corner Stone Methodist Church of Ashland, KY. His legacy will live on for many years to come in the lives of those he left behind.
