Mr. James Earnest Hall stood for our country as a member of the US Army. 

He was a proud 1962 graduate of Ashland High School.  James enjoyed his work in maintenance at the City of Ashland Sewage Plant, where he remained until his retirement.  James was known for his fun-loving spirit and was always ready with a joke.  He could be strong-willed, often believing it was his way or no way, but that determination was part of what made him unforgettable.  James proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a former member of the American Legion. Perhaps it was the soldier in him, but James truly enjoyed keeping things clean and orderly.  He was a remarkable handyman.  James could fix nearly anything, and if someone needed help, James was ready to lend a hand.  Like most from Eastern Kentucky, his blood ran blue with pride for his Wildcats. James lived for UK Basketball and did not miss a game in twenty years; he was also a devoted Cincinnati Bengals fan.  James was of the Baptist faith and his belief in God was unwavering.  James was a steady light in the lives of those who loved him.  His laughter, determination, generous hands, and one-of-a-kind personality will remain treasured memories. Although his family will miss him deeply, they find comfort in knowing that his work here is finished, his faith has carried him home, and his love will remain with them always.
