About the Mission:
Aldridge Eugene Newby, SSG, US Army, served our country during WWII in HHC, 5th Battalion, 33d Armor, 1st US Army, as an Armor Specialist. He was awarded the National Defense Medal and the Drill Sergeant Badge, and although his original DD-214 could not be located, he was a highly decorated Veteran, and at 99 years old has outlived most of his family. After his retirement, his pastime was spent with family. He was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.
